In-House Finishing

Trimming sheets of paper with a special machine called a guillotine.
Outsourced Finishing
Wirobinding is a type of binding which adds a metal wire to collated sheets. It can be applied to books, notepads or tent calendars (as in the image).
Spot UV Varnish applies a gloss or matt finish to a specific section on the printed item. This can be words or images and can be done in conjunction with other finishing techniques such as laminating.
Foiling – using special paper that has a metallic finish for the foil. This is generally done in gold, silver or bronze.
Laminating – can be done as matt or gloss. This is applied to the entire sheet and can be done on one side or both sides of the sheet.
Rimming traditionally done on calendars that will be hung on walls. Rimming adds either a gold or silver metal rim on one or both edges of a printed sheet. This rim can also have a plastic hook which allows the rimmed item to hang.
Embossing – a reverse indentation for that added pop.
Debossing – the indentation finishing technique.
